Thing to know when being on set as a supporting artist.
On-set etiquette is vital to giving a good impression, not only are you representing yourself, but also the agency who got you the booking.
A good example of a professional supporting artist includes being friendly, professional, and following directions.
- Be professional
- Be on time
- Be friendly and easy to work with
- Listen to the Assistant Directors - This is a must, when the AD is addressing a group (more especially when in large numbers) please be silent so that everyone can hear clearly, get to Costume, Hair & Make (HMU) up as soon as you are told
- Don't be late or rude
- Don't take unscheduled breaks
- Don't leave the set until you're told to wrap
Follow directions
- Be flexible and reliable
- Have a knack for following direction
- If you're unsure where to stand or sit, ask a member of the AD team for guidance
Other tips
- Don't look at the camera
- Don't overact
- Don't bring a friend or family member
- Let the Assistant Director know if you need medication
